Chapter 1:
The Night Before School

Emma was a bright and happy girl,

With red hair that bounced and a smile that twirled.

But something was making her giggle fade,

For tomorrow was school, and she felt afraid.

She’d never been to school before,

And the thought of it made her heart feel sore.

“What if it’s scary? What if it’s long?

What if I do something terribly wrong?”

Her mommy knelt down with a hug so tight,

“Emma, my love, it’ll be all right.

School is a place where you’ll learn and play,

And meet new friends each and every day.”

Emma listened, her worries still there,

But she knew her mommy always took care.

So she took a deep breath, and with a sigh,

She whispered, “I’ll try, I’ll try to be brave and give it a try.”

Chapter 2:
The Big Day Arrives

The morning sun was shining bright,

Emma woke up feeling light.

She put on her dress, so pretty and blue,

And tied both her shoes, Shoe 1 and Shoe 2.

As she walked to school, her heart beat fast,

But she remembered her mommy’s words from the past.

“Be brave and try new things, my dear,

For that’s when good things will appear.”

At the school’s big door, Emma stopped in her tracks,

But a friendly voice came from the back.

“Hello, Emma! Welcome to school!

I’m Miss Harper, and I think you’re cool!”

Miss Harper had a smile so warm and wide,

Emma felt a little better inside.

“Come on in, we’ll have some fun,

We’ll play and learn, and soon you’ll be done.”

Chapter 3:
A New Adventure

Emma took a step, and then one more,

And soon she was inside the school door.

The classroom was bright, with colors so bold,

And toys and books as far as she could behold.

There were other kids, some big, some small,

And they all seemed to be having a ball.

Miss Harper showed Emma where to sit,

And handed her crayons, a perfect fit.

“Let’s draw a picture, Emma, just you and me,

Of something you love, let’s see what it’ll be!”

Emma smiled and picked up a crayon of red,

She drew her family, the ones she loved and fed.

Miss Harper clapped, “What a beautiful sight!

You’re an artist, Emma, your drawing’s just right!”

Emma giggled and felt her fears fade,

Miss Harper was kind, she wasn’t afraid.

Chapter 4:
Friends and Fun

The day went on with laughter and cheer,

Emma found out she had nothing to fear.

They sang songs, played games, and had storytime too,

And Emma even made a friend or two!

There was Sophie with curls and a dress so green,

And Mia who was funny, and a little unseen.

They played on the swings, they played in the sand,

And Emma thought school was really quite grand.

When it was time to go home, the day was done,

Emma realized she’d had so much fun.

Miss Harper waved as Emma skipped away,

“See you tomorrow, Emma, can’t wait for another day!”

Chapter 5:
A New Love for School

That night as Emma snuggled in bed,

She thought of the day and all that was said.

She’d been so brave, she’d tried something new,

And found out that school was something she knew.

Miss Harper was kind, her friends were great,

And Emma decided she couldn’t wait,

To go back to school and learn some more,

To play and laugh and explore.

Emma smiled, feeling happy and bright,

She’d been brave and things turned out just right.

She whispered softly, as she closed her eyes tight,

“School is fun, and I’ll be all right.”
